Your digestive system always has a way of telling you when something is troubling you mentally. When the pressure builds up in the stomach, you can suffer from trapped wind in different parts of your digestive system, causing a range of symptoms including a bloated stomach, abdomen, burping and flatulence.
The root cause of indigestion
When you eat something too much and too fast, it creates a gap in your windpipe. Hence, it is always advised that you eat your food slow and well (even if it means slowing down on your digestion like a cow 32 times).
When you do feel something wrong with your digestion, chances are that you are likely to encounter a growling pain or worse, feel constipated .What do you do? You pop a painkiller or two and wait for the terrible day to pass. A troubled stomach makes you want to put a stop to your regular work and nothing seems to help. Home remedies, although very effective require some work to do which is not possible at all times.
How to help
In such a scenario, if there is something that actually gives you some respite is crutching the abdomen area with both the hands. But we all know, that does not solve the problem in its entirety! It just gives you some sense of control. There is another solution we have for you which is quick, easy and does not require any further prep. All you have to do is give yourself a 2 minute massage!
According to experts and nutritionists, the ideal way to eat a meal is to practice slow living and take in every bite and the nutrients. When you are stressed or tensed, you eat food faster and take in the air as well. This can lead to inflammation in your stomach and the gut, putting your digestion at risk. You need to follow the proper passage for digestion- from the mouth to the eosophegus to the gut. Hence, relaxing the system is the way to go. A simple stomach massage, practiced everyday before and after meals can help you big time.
How to practice abdominal massage:
-Lie down on the floor or the yoga mat on your back.
-Make sure that your knees are bent and feet in a flat position while you do so.
-Now, place both your hands on your stomach and begin to massage in a circular way. Do this both clockwise and anti-clockwise.
-Inhale and exhale breath as you continue to massage.
-You can also apply slight pressure to the areas where it is paining. Keep massaging until the abdomen feels relaxed.
-You can also try increasing your intake of water. Make sure you drink plenty of water everyday, upto 6 glasses each day. This can keep issues related to bloating and digestion at bay.
