Why heating pad works?
Heating pads increase the flow of blood in the affected area and reduce inflammation. It gives relief from muscle, ligaments and tendons cramps.
Method 1: Oven heated towel
Things you will need: Two hand towels and a ziplock bag
Instructions
Step 1: Soak both the towels in water and then squeeze out the excess water.
Step 2: Put one towel in the ziplock bag. Do not close the zip of the bag.
Step 3: Now put the bag inside the microwave and heat it at high temperature for 2 minutes.
Step 4: Remove the bag from the microwave safely. Now seal the ziplock bag and wrap the other towel around the bag.
Step 5: Apply the heating pad on the sore area to get relief from inflammation and pain.
Method 2: Old socks method
You can also put the spare socks in your house to some use. Turn the lonely socks to a homemade heating pad.
Things you will need: Uncooked Rice and a spare sock
Instructions
Step 1: Fill the sock with uncooked rice and close the opening tightly with a rubber band or string.
Step 2: Put it in a microwave on a high temperature for about 2 minutes.
Step 3: Take the sock out from the microwave and put it on your swollen area.
Once the heating pad gets cold, place it again inside the microwave for a minute and repeat the process.
Tips
Be careful while using a heating pad on small kids, people suffering from diabetes and heart problems.
